Monster Introduces Second Phase of ``Portraits'' Campaign Featuring Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Lenny Krayzelburg

By MIKE DeARMOND, The Kansas City Star, 28 July 2004

MAYNARD, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- July 28, 2004 -- Monster(R) today announced the launch of the next phase of "Portraits," a series of new commercials from its "Today's the Day" brand campaign. Developed by Deutsch, Inc. of New York, the six :15 spots will once again feature candid appeals from real-life job seekers in search of fulfilling work or employers seeking qualified candidates. Viewers are directed to visit monster.com to hire candidates or apply for positions. Monster is the official online career management sponsor of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team and the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST).

One of the television spots will highlight three-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Monster job seeker Lenny Krayzelburg. Lenny captured three gold medals at the 2000 Olympic Games in the 100m and 200m backstroke and the 4x100 relay team and holds the world record in the 100M backstroke. A graduate of the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Investment, Lenny intends to retire from competitive swimming after the 2004 Games and start a career in the financial industry.

"Portraits" debuted on Monday on NBC's "Today"; three of the six spots will continue to air leading up to, and throughout, the 2004 Olympic Games. The remaining spots will begin airing in late August and run through the end of the year on NBC, ABC, CBS and cable networks including ESPN, Bravo, Comedy Central, TLC, BET, E!, A&E Biography, VH-1, and USA, among others.

"The 'Portraits' campaign speaks true to the goal of every Monster member. Everyone seeks their ideal match, whether it's the perfect job or a suitable candidate," said Steve Pogorzelski, president of Monster, North America. "We're especially excited to help Lenny leverage the skills he has developed throughout his competitive athletic career to conduct a successful search and, ultimately, find his ideal job. His participation in the "Portraits" campaign complements Monster's sponsorship of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team and formation of Team Monster - five athletes, including Lenny, who embody the career attributes and ambition that are at the foundation of Monster's U.S. Olympic involvement."

In addition to Lenny, the new "Portraits" spots will feature the following employer and job seekers:

-- Amita Sall, Employment Manager: Amita is the employment manager for a children's hospital in Seattle. She is hiring for a range of positions including groundskeeper, food service workers, social workers, and of course, nurses. She says, "We're always hiring!"
